I made it up until 11:30 and couldn’t keep my eyes open. Let’s say mine is a challenge - sci-fi / Ponzi scheme / amputee.

😵‍💫

Nooooooo! I got romantic comedy! Michele, yes, let's trade, we totally can do that and we won't get in trouble. I will just channel you Michele. i'll put a little fantasy, a little 60's stuff, throw in a cool Jewish family, there, done!

Good luck everyone! I'm just happy to see we have seven days. I thought this was the weekend challenge.

Chad, you'll do great. Write it before the deadline and post it in the forum and maybe someone will have time to review it. I'll review it!

I usually just think for a bit first about my character or the situation and then I write. I might not even write anything today. I also walk away during the process to let my subconscious mind take a turn, then I go back and write more.

Cheers! Write on!

Oh, my god, I just got my characters, and the location, and the story. I'm taking a chance as one of my characters is a turtle.

Chad, here is a note, don't go too far away from genre, or what your prompts are. I've heard this from others that this could hurt your score.

I'm probably doomed, but I'm feeling bold. And pretty. ha ha.

Wow - go, @Chad, go! Your assignment sounds really fun, honestly.

I always spend some time googling my subject and character just to see if I can pick up any other connotations besides the literal interpretation. It always helps me come up with more ideas. I also find NYC Midnight's genre definitions on their website really helpful.

Wow, Chad, you go! After I posted I went back to bed and now just woke up. It will be fun to check in with each other and see how it's going! I'm glad we are all in this together. Thanks, Max, for this thread.

I am looking forward to read your turtle story. I have transitioned the cards onto a Final Draft outline and powered through 8 pages.

Setting up my world and the Ponzi scheme takes up a lot of real estate in 12 pages so I can envision the need to edit down before the deadline.

And I second the thank you to Max this thread is great.

First draft is done. Luckily, I have an understanding wife. Hoping to have it posted to the forum tonight. I will need edits because I ran a page over, but have to admit this rush can be addicting.

I just spent the last hour and a half watching YouTube videos about logging (clear cutting) and loggers . . .
