Unless Spielberg changed the ending, I have no interest. I don't like sad movies 🤷‍♀️

He didn't. So you're safe. 😎

Just watched this latest film from Wes Anderson today. It’s pretty great. On HBO.

You always beat me to the good one’s. It’s actually sitting in my watchlist. I’ll move up the list.

I watched two polar opposite movies in the past week: Mad God  and Drive My Car.

Mad God is a short (~85 min) stop-motion, experimental horror film set in an otherworldly dystopia. It's macabre all the way with little, if any, forces of redemption at work. So, if that's your thing, I highly recommend! I liked it a lot. Currently, you can only watch it via the Shudder streaming service.

Drive My Car  is a long, (nearly 3 hr) down to earth drama set in Japan about a playwright coping with the loss of loved ones as he works on directing a Chekhov play. He likes driving his car and much of the story takes place in his car. If that's your thing, I highly recommend! I liked it a lot too!

Has anyone seen these?

I co-sign with Drive My Car. It's a marathon of a movie but its worth it.

Has anyone not seen Beginners yet? It is a wonderful film and also a very interesting screenplay read because of unique intercuts with still images (that script is in the library). Also every time I see it I get instant Jack Russel Terrier yearnings.

@seemaxrun I have not, but I  got it on my to-watch list. I actually don't remember the last time I watched a rom-com.

Jeez, the Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 trailer looks really dark. I was really looking forward to seeing Chris Pratt go back to entertaining comedy work he's been doing all these dark roles lately. I guess I'll find out in May but, um, where is the humor?

Has anyone seen Prey on Hulu yet? The trailer looks good and it is getting some good word of mouth online. I'm not signed up for Hulu but I might to watch it. Hmm.

@seemaxrun I haven’t seen Prey (probably won’t!) but I totally recommend Hulu in general. Some great original series on there - Only Murders in the Building is wonderful, and enjoying The Bear right now. You’d really like only Murders in the Building, it’s comedy with Steve Martin and Martin Short and Selena Gomez. Trailer for season one below. Season 2 just started too.

@michele Only Murders in the Building looks really fun.

I dunno about The Bear, I usually find stuff set in restaurants kind of boring but the guy is hot yay!

It took me a few episodes to get into The Bear but then it got into its groove. Only Murders in the Building is a hoot.

Saw a fun film on Amazon Prime, Catherine Called Birdy. It's about a tomboy princess whose father is trying to marry her off to refill the family coffers.

Just saw that HBO Max just added "Excess Baggage", in case anyone hasn't seen it...
