Thoughts, observations, conversations and such.
Me: Maybe I will take a break from work and hit social media for some light frivolity.
Social Media: Death! Doom! Destruction! APOCALYPSE!
Me: Maybe I will go back to work for some light frivolity....
@seemaxrun the only bright spot on Twitter for me today was your post. Still giggling. And getting the heck off of social media.
@della Instagram is still fun. I checked in on Bodega Cats and Rowdy the skateboarding dog and A Dog Called Stella.
Whoah, the weather forecast for Austin says snow tomorrow Sunday. That NEVER happens.
(If anybody needs me tomorrow I will be on the balcony watching for anything resembling a snow flake.)
Snow! Yay yay yay! This is so real snow too. It is starting to stick and getting bigger and fluffier.
Just add snow monkeys.
Today has been a really unusual bird day. This morning a hawk came and hung out in the small enclosure beneath my balcony and tonight a white owl flew past overhead. I see hawks often here, but not hanging out in the little enclosure under the balcony, distant flying hawks. I've never seen the owl before. The owl is like a ghost bird, so fast and pale in the night.
About to sacrifice another birthday to the pandemic. Dammit. On the other hand, I am about to HAVE another birthday during the pandemic. Which means I'm still alive. During a pandemic. That's a win.
In other news, Happy Year of the Ox! (If you Google "Year of the Ox" little fireworks shoot about on your screen. Ooh la la! Also Cris is off to celebrate Chinese New Year for the coming week so everyone try to avoid forum catastrophe & such I'm mostly on my own here till he returns.)
It is a balmy 27 degrees in Austin, with a low of 9 predicted.
Texas is not built for this kind of cold. All hell is breaking loose on the roads because no one here knows how to drive on ice.
In other news, this is a historic day for the Max websites. All of AFW is back on the AFW servers and contained within one site now. Seemaxrun and TNSSG are repaired and spruced. I've pulled the last accounts off the old host's servers (the common denominator in the hacker frenzy wars) and all the sites are in one place on (knock wood) dependable servers now. In a week I can finally kill that old hosting account. It probably doesn't look like a lot from the outside but on the back end on the inside this is pretty huge. :::happy sigh:::
